Skegness Magistrate Court Closure - Justice Will Still Be Dispensed Locally
Locals worried that Skegness Magistrates Court had been earmarked for closure will be reassured to know that the news doesn't mean the end to local justice.
Today the under-secretary of state to the justice minister, Shailesh Vara, responded to queries about the future of Skegness court in parliament.
In response to a question by Matt Warman (MP for Boston and Skegness) he gave his "assurance" that the court wouldn't be relocated to anywhere outside of the town.
In his question Matt Warman remarked that the court was one of the "most underused in the country" and "one of the least able to cope with vulnerable prisoners".
Warman requested for the use of other facilities as a court in the area but wasn't "sentimental" about the current building.

Stolen Boston Stump Floodlights and A Simple Act of Kindness
When the Boston Stump had its floodlights stolen earlier this week it was hard not to despair at the levels to which some would stoop for a quick buck.
The lights had been intended to be revealed this weekend in a ceremony but were stolen, postponing the whole event and costing the stump nearly two thousand pounds to replace the floodlights.
The lights had been damaged in the floods because of a tidal surge a few years ago. The stump was extensively damaged in the floods and has struggled to afford to repair everything damaged.
The loss of the lights was a blow the church simply didn't need.
Yet, in a particularly caring show of charity, a man from Lincoln who heard the news story on BBC Radio Lincolnshire got in touch with the Breakfast show... I'll let Scott and Carla take it from here.
Well doesn't that just restore your faith in the goodness of people?
Too often we focus heavily on the negative things about Boston, it's hard to forget that there are good people out there. Hopefully this helps inspire some Bostoners to be more charitable in their daily lives.

RADIO 1 DJ SAYS HE'LL BRING FESTIVAL SPIRIT TO BOSTON
Phil Taggart, the Radio 1 DJ, has told Endeavour Radio that he will make sure everyone has a good time when he plays at the Boston Big Gig this weekend.
In the interview he speaks about how he'll be winging his headline DJ set to make sure that the crowd get exactly the tunes they want.
He even suggests throwing paper aeroplanes with requests on into his DJ booth on the day.
The Irish presenter says "There's something much more pure about playing the smaller festivals because you know that... [the crowd] is so much more up for a party."
He empathises with local music fans' inability to find an outlet for fresh music. "They need to get this creativity stored that's stored in their head out" he says about an Irish festival near his home-town.
He also ear-marks Declan Mckenna - one of the other acts playing at the gig - as one to watch. He calls him a "gift that keeps on giving."
